Night navigation

Objectives of the night navigation course: navigate by managing the peculiarities and difficulties at night. The topics needed to safely prepare the boat and crew will be addressed.
When navigating, learn to use both the classic instruments and the available electronic aids.

CONTENTS​

  • Pilotage plans: how to plan port entry and exit; use of pilot books and supporting instruments in conditions of reduced visibility. Learn to use lights, taillights in alignment and/or detection.

  • Risk analysis: Analyze potential risks according to conditions and crew, route planning and shift management.

  • Standards: everything you need to know for the prevention of collisions at sea.
