The waters along the Salento coast are famous for their transparency. Visibility under the sea is often exceptional, making Salento an ideal destination for snorkelling and diving lovers.

Along the coast, there are charming coastal towns that mix natural beauty with historic charm. Otranto, Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca are just some of the coastal locations that offer a unique mix of history, architecture and seascapes.

Relitto del Tevfik Kaptan One

The charm and emotion of a submerged wreck are sensations that can transform a simple holiday in Puglia into an extraordinary adventure.

In Torre Vado, in June 2007 the Turkish cargo ship TEVFIK KAPTAN sank and today lies about 0.5 miles from the coast at a maximum depth of about 20 metres. The ship was carrying aluminum bars and sank due to adverse weather conditions. After careful reclamation work, the Torre Vado wreck has become a paradise for groupers and sea bream, also an unmissable destination for diving enthusiasts.

The shallow depth in which it lies allows it to be visible even when snorkeling.
